Which Test Is Easier?
Choose SAT if:You prefer shorter tests, want to use a calculator for all math, and are comfortable with adaptive testing. The SAT's Reading & Writing section combines grammar and comprehension into shorter passages.
Choose ACT if: You excel at science reasoning, prefer a faster-paced test with more straightforward questions, and want to showcase your science skills. The ACT is linear (same questions for everyone), which some students find more predictable.
Do Colleges Prefer One Over the Other?
No. All US colleges accept both SAT and ACT equally. There is no advantage to taking one over the other in admissions. Choose the test where you can achieve your highest score.
