How to Calculate SAT Score

Understanding how your SAT score is calculated helps you set realistic goals and track your progress.

1

Count Your Raw Score

For each section (Math and Reading & Writing), count how many questions you answered correctly. There is no penalty for wrong answers, so always guess!

2

Review a Planning Range

College Board does not publish one universal raw-to-scaled conversion table for every Digital SAT form. Official scores also reflect the characteristics of the questions you answered. Use an independentscore chartonly as a planning estimate.

3

Add Your Section Scores

Total Score = Math Score (200-800) + Reading & Writing Score (200-800) = 400-1600

4

Check Your Percentile

Your percentile shows how you compare to other test takers.View percentile rankings →
